The Leinster Institute of Professional Development was set up by Brian McGloughlin in 2009. Brian is a highly experienced within the area of HR and as a Consultant and Trainer across a broad range of industries (Retail, Healthcare and Travel) and business models. Brian has gained valuable experience both in a self-employed capacity and through management positions in the private sector. Brian has over twenty years experience in both the multinational and SME sectors. He appreciates the competitive advantage that learning and development can bring both to the individual and the organisation.
Brian completed an MBA and an MSc in Human Resource Management with the OU Business School and is currently completing a PG Dip (OSH) at UCD. Brian has also completed a QQI (level 6) Trainers course as well as the NUIM Certificate in Training and Further Education. He is a member of the QQI External Authenticator Panel and is also a member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development.

Tom Beegan is an internationally experienced senior executive with a 30-year track record of achievement with the private sector, government and non-for-profit organisations. He has unique European and Canadian experiences implementing integrated health and safety management systems that improve overall health and safety organisational performance.
Tom has an MBA from University College Dublin. He has a Charted Directorship in corporate governance from McMaster University, is registered as an arbitrator with the UK Institute of Arbitrators and has studied “Strategic Thinking” with the Schulich School of Business.
He was the CEO of the Health and Safety Authority in Ireland for six years and the Chief Prevention Officer for Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) until January 2011.

Deirdre is a RGN with over 30 years experience. Having completed her Diploma and Higher Diploma in Gerontological Nursing she has concentrated on Care of the Older Person.
Deirdre was DON for 5 years in recent years and has a great understanding of HIQA and the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People. Deirdre feels passionately about the standard of care delivered to Older People and the importance of Person Centred Care in delivering this.
Deirdre has a special interest in Dementia having been a Nurse Manager with the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland. While working with the HSE some years ago she was involved in the development and delivery of the Training programme delivered to staff.
Having in recent years completed her Diploma in Management in Practice in conjunction with the ICGP and Irish Management Institute she manages a busy rural GP Practice.

As a qualified Psychologist & Sociologist with over 20 years of project, strategic management and training design and facilitation experience Trudi has been working with the Leinster Institute of Professional Development since it's inception. As a highly motivated and results oriented Training & Programme Coordinator, Trudi has the ability to build, maintain and manage effective internal and external professional relationships. She consistently demonstrates a creative yet professionally diligent approach to all activities while applying precision and logical thinking techniques.
Trudi has also been appointed a member of the QQI External Authenticator Panel and provides a range of specialist advice and adult education provisions nationwide.
Private Healthcare Training
Brendan has been working as a nurse for over ten years both in Ireland and overseas.
His professional background includes working in a wide variety of care settings including hospital facilities, private nursing homes and community residences.
Brendan has gained vast experience in the areas of general nursing as well as education. Brendan completed a master of Health Sciences in Nurse Education with the National University of Ireland (NUIG) in 2012. This led to Brendan being accredited as a Registered Nurse Tutor (RNT) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
From 1997 until his early retirement in 2010 Stephen was employed by the HSE as Education and Training Officer in the Addiction Services. In cooperation with a colleague he helped design the part time Certificate in Addiction Studies (Level 7) for Maynooth University.
In 2002 Stephen was seconded as Advisor for the Department of Health and Children on a three-year Drugs Awareness Campaign. He was also seconded as a part-time Tutor on the Diploma in Addiction Studies (Trinity College) and is currently Academic Advisor for the Diploma in Addiction Studies (Level8) with Maynooth University.
Over his career Stephen has designed and delivered many short-term targeted courses, seminars and conferences on various aspects of substance use for health care staff, voluntary agency staff, employers and management teams. He holds a H.Dip in Health Services Admin, a Diploma in Addiction Studies (TCD), and an M.SC in Drug and Alcohol Policy (TCD).
Jeannine is a qualified QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2008) and works on a part-time consultancy basis with leading certification bodies, providing third party verification of Management Systems, Products and Security Services in accordance with Irish, European and International standards.
Jeannine also acts as a health & safety consultant within a broad range of business sectors where her work includes writing safety statements, completing health & safety audits and guidance for clients.
Jeannine is a qualified trainer and has over 25 years experience within the healthcare sector. This includes twelve years experience in some of the most high-risk and challenging social care environments dealing with clients who display the most challenging of behaviours.
