Dementia Care Management
& Challenging Behaviour
This course will equip the participant with the knowledge and skills in understanding and caring for people with dementia. The participant will study what dementia is and the experience of living with dementia; how cultures of residential care can be improved to put the needs of people with dementia at the centre of care; and some of the difficult issues that arise for people with dementia near the end of their life.
The course will illustrate to the participant the differing aspects and considerations of dementia-care with a particular emphasis on the role of a person-centred approach in this area and how to deal effectively with the potentially difficult and challenging behaviour/situations that may arise.
Who should apply?
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about the effectiveness of a person-centred approach to dementia care as well as how to deal with the challenging behaviours and situations which they may experience within this environment.
