Introduction to Health Legislation & Statutory Requirements for Designated Centres
HIQA's Authority’s Social Services Inspectorate (SSI), referred to in the Health Act 20071 as the Office of the Chief Inspector, was established to regulate the quality of residential care in designated centres for children, older people, and people with disabilities.
This course sets out how to achieve best practice in line with current legislation and how the SSI intends to use its enforcement powers under the Health Act 2007 to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of designated centres and how the designated centre can improve the quality of care provided

This course is aimed at anyone who is involved in the health legislation and statutory requirements for designated centres.
